Los Angeles is a Spectrum city first. Spectrum's cable network covers nearly nine in ten addresses; AT&T's fiber build reaches roughly four in ten, so in LA the honest position is that fiber is the better connection where it exists and it does not exist everywhere. It runs well through Echo Park, Silver Lake, Laurel Canyon, Mid-City, Crenshaw and parts of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and is weakest downtown, in the parts of South LA nearest downtown, and in Culver City and Santa Monica. Frontier's fiber — now under Verizon ownership — overlaps in small pockets.
